Good news : Dominica, a Caribbean archipelago, just accessed the International Convention on the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearances. So that's now 60 countries which accessed it, and 98 which signed it. Every step is a progress towards the end of enforced disappearances and impunity!
The Kurd association YAKAY-Der, based in Turkey, has been fighting for years now for a recognition by the Turkish government of the many human rights violations ( murder, arbitrary detention, torture, enforced disappearance) committed against its Kurd population, as well as for justice, guarantees of non-recurrence and for the rights of which they were deprived to be finally given back.
Le Conseil consultatif des droits de l’homme a présenté le 14 janvier 2010 son rapport principal sur le suivi de la mise en œuvre des recommandations de l’Instance Equité et Réconciliation. Le cas d’Abdelhaq Rouissi figure parmi les cas non encore résolus.
