The Comité des Parents des Personnes Enlevées ou Disparues au Liban is a non-governmental organization founded on November 17, 1982. The association is made up of the mothers, fathers, wives, children, brothers and sisters of people abducted or disappeared during the war that began in Lebanon on April 13, 1975. When hostilities ceased, their number was estimated at 17,000.
