On August 31, 2020, the French newspaper Libération published an article calling for universal ratification of the International Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance.

Aware that only universal ratification will enable us to fight effectively against enforced disappearances, FEMED is one of the 62 signatories of the declaration.
Adopted almost 10 years ago, this international treaty for the protection of human rights is a real tool in the fight against enforced disappearances. However, the Convention has only been ratified by 62 States. There is now an urgent need to work towards wider ratification. States the world over must commit themselves to combating the impunity and injustice of these disappearances, in order to defend human rights.
